Deutsche Filmakademie is an institution of the German filmmaking scene, promoting the medium and bringing together thousands of members from across the industry. They used IO for the 2024 reception of the Berlinale: one of the largest and most well-respected public film festivals in the world.
When Mattia Tezzele of Deutsche Filmakademie began his search for an invitation platform, he kept coming up short. His use case was simple but specific: to send secure, custom invitations to the opening gala of the Berlin International Film Festival. Yet none of the apps he trialled seemed to offer the exact functionality he needed.
Mattia’s research eventually led him to discover our event registration software, Tito. When he got in touch to enquire about our RSVP feature, we jumped at the chance to show him something new that we’d been working on: the app that is now “IO”, our invitation-only platform.
IO was exactly what Mattia was looking for. Despite a tight timeline, we worked with him to produce custom templates with the Berlinale branding. We localised the whole experience to German, all the way down to custom greetings depending on whether guests should be greeted “Liebe” or “Lieber”.
Within a few days of onboarding and setup, Mattia was ready to send over two thousand invitations to members of the German Film Academy with complete confidence. RSVPs and declines were simple, branded and one-click. Some guests were given the option to add plus ones. And everyone received a custom branded digital pass to their Apple or Google wallet.
On the day of the festival, Mattia was able to quickly set up multiple mobile devices for smooth and secure check-in to verify attendees.
It was a privilege and an honour to work with such a distinguished customer, and we are delighted that IO was able to meet all their requirements and contribute to the enormous success of their event.
